Your adventure begins with an unforgettable 35-minute journey aboard a 48-passenger submarine, as featured in National Geographic television specials, where guests explore a 25-acre natural coral reef and its marine inhabitants.

Accompanying your underwater adventure is a spectacular luau. Choose between The Royal Kona Resort Luau with the Tihati Drums of Polynesia on Monday, Wednesday & Friday evenings or The King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel Luau featuring the Island Breeze Luau every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday evening.
Your luau begins with a lei greeting, a traditional imu ceremony, an all-you-can-eat Polynesian buffet and an open bar.
Entertainment follows dinner. The show is a spectacular fast-paced, entertaining musical journey that takes the audience through the islands of the South Pacific.
Featuring a talented cast of singers, drummers, musicians & dancers performing songs and dances rarely seen in typical luau shows - the dynamic performance culminates with a spellbinding Samoan "fire knife" dance.
Helpful Information:
1.Guests must check-in at the Atlantis Submarine ticket office on Alii Drive located across from the Kailua-Kona Pier.
2. Check-in required 30 minutes before the scheduled submarine tour time.
3. Actual underwater tour time is 35 minutes. Shuttle boat ride from the pier to the submarine site plus transfer is 10 minutes each way.
4. Children must be 36 inches or taller to ride the submarine.
5. Passengers must be physically capable of ascending and descending a near vertical ladder in order to ride the submarine.
6. All tours are in English. Headsets providing narrations in Japanese are available upon request.

Sub ride was great fun esp. with humorous, good-natured crew and appropriate music played over the PA system. Luau was excellent, food outstanding, and entertainment second-to-none! Will definitely participate in these activities again when we return to HI. Mahalo from New Mexico!

The submarine adventure was incredible -- my wife and I are snorkelers, but my brother and his wife are not; therefore, we wanted to show them the beauty of the Hawaiian waters -- they THOROUGHLY enjoyed the sub ride, especially the sunken ships! The luau, also, was a wonderful experience for all. Thank you, again!

We have never done this trip before, and for someone who doesn't scuba dive, it was a great opportunity to get to see things I wouldn't get to view. Again on the must do list when on the Big Island.

The submarine was very interesting. We got to see a lot of underwater life, though the color that far down fades fast. The crew was very knowledgeable of the sea life found around the Big Island. The Luau was great! We loved it. The food was very delicious and the dancers were great. If you don't do anything else, you have to go to a Luau.

Very friendly. A good way to see underwater if you don't like to snorkel. We could actually see quite a few fish. The luau was very good and it was fun making the fish out of palm leaves. The food was pretty good, too.

It was a great experience. The crew of the submarine was knowledgeable and friendly. The waters were beautiful. The Luau was fantastic with terrific food and show. We would do this adventure again and recommend it for anyone.

This was well worth the money. If you are not a diver, there is no other way I know of going 100 feet below the water. Got some great pictures through the portholes.

The submarine ride was pretty short, but impressive. We had a great time and it was very comfortable. The luau was one of the best I've seen. The food was good and the show was great. We had no problems with our online reservations. The only clarification would be that the luau name was not on our confirmation. We got that when we checked in for the submarine ride. And the check-in at the luau was not fully explained, so that I had to go into the hotel and get our tickets, while my guests waited at the luau. The process should be made a little clearer. All in all though I thought it was a great value and we all had a very good time!
