Tickets & ConfirmationImmediately after submitting your reservation you will receive a receipt of booking by email. Within 48 hours (often on the very same day!) of submitting your reservation you will receive a voucher confirming all details. Description
Every winter Humpback Whales migrate to Hawaii to mate and give birth, arriving in December and departing in April. Your Naturalist Captain will provide expert narration on the whales' behavior, and we have hydrophones onboard to listen for whale song.
Frequently, we also spot dolphins, manta rays, turtles & other marine life during our expedition. Our fast-moving Zodiacs get you into position quickly and provide an exhilarating & fun ride. The Zodiac's low profile & high maneuverability has made the watercraft recognized worldwide as the best way to explore the marine environment.
We're at water level, so you're RIGHT THERE when the whales are around us, not 15 feet above them on the deck of a larger boat. You can even feel the mist from their blowholes.
Humpback Whales are active, acrobatic whales. During the mating season, males will "show off" to impress and win over females. This behavior provides many opportunities to see the more than 40-ton males breach, engage in "tail lobbing" and "flipper slapping." The most impressive male gets the female!
Remember the Kona Coast has the calmest waters and the Zodiac is the least likely boat to cause seasickness. Due to the bouncy nature of our ride, we do not recommend it for persons with back or neck problems or the elderly. Pregnant women are not allowed on this tour.
Bring a towel and a dry bag to protect your binoculars and camera from sea spray. Your adventure includes an assortment of refreshing beverages (sodas, juices & water) and snacks.
